Allen Colombo is director and filmmaker with North Carolina roots based in Los Angeles.
His first job after film school (where his thesis won the Special Jury Award at South by Southwest) was in virtual reality on a massive recreation of the Caves of the Thousand Buddhas in Dunhuang, China. Creating VR environments out of real world spaces instilled an enduring fascination with the digitization of our physical world, and the narrowing zone between the virtual and the real.
While freelancing as a director, he worked in post at Miramax and the NFL, and continues to edit his own projects, many of which build on his background in virtual reality and film through the use of virtual production.
In 2015, he co-founded Effie Studios, a creative production studio in LA specializing in innovative storytelling solutions.
